Philosophy Statement

I chose the profession of dental hygiene to allow me to promote oral and general health, and help others learn how to care for themselves by implementing goals reached together. Providing optimal clinical care with the highest standards in a specialized and personalized manner for my patients will help me serve varying communities to educate them in the prevention of disease.

One of my inspirations is my cousin Ana, she is a retired Navy Lieutenant and a doctor of nursing practice, she always encouraged me to follow my dreams and that I was intelligent enough to do anything I wished in life. At her graduation from DNP school, I had an epiphany of desire to advance my career in dentistry and set forth my goal of becoming a dental hygienist.

My other inspiration is my friend Samir Amin DDS, who taught me to follow my ethics, perform my services in a cool, calm collected manner and recognize varying pathologies which most clinicians may miss or misdiagnose.

My desire to help others and make difference in lives by combining my education, knowledge, past experiences, and clinical skills will reflect in the care I provide. I aim to practice in a way to enhance the experiences of my patients in a positive manner which builds up patient/clinician relationships built on human experiences, trust, honesty, ethical treatment, and professional care aimed at the improvement, reversal and continued treatment of periodontal dieseases.

The impact my education has had and will have on me in my professional career is built on ethics, principles of treatment that are evidence-based, and research principles that will allow me to always move forward and be involved in the scientific community as a dental health care provider.
